Why It Matters

Pregnancy changes everything —
yoga helps you move with it.

1 in 5
Pregnant women experience significant anxiety or depression

Hormonal shifts, physical changes, and the weight of expectation create a perfect storm for mental health challenges during pregnancy.

85%
Of pregnant women report musculoskeletal discomfort

Back pain, pelvic girdle pain, and postural changes are extremely common — targeted yoga practice significantly reduces these symptoms.

60%
Of new mothers feel unprepared for postnatal recovery

The physical and emotional demands of the fourth trimester are widely underestimated. Postnatal yoga bridges this gap with compassionate, practical support.

£0
Equipment needed — just your body and a little space

Pregnancy yoga is completely accessible. No prior experience is needed, and every session is adapted to exactly where you are right now.

You deserve to feel at home in your body — through every stage.

Pregnancy is one of the most profound physical and emotional journeys a person can experience. Yet many mothers feel they have to navigate it alone, pushing through discomfort and anxiety without the tools or support to truly thrive.

Prenatal yoga offers more than gentle movement. It builds the strength, flexibility, and body awareness that supports a healthy pregnancy; the breathing skills that help in labour; and the mental resilience that carries you through sleepless nights and identity shifts of early motherhood.

Postnatal yoga then helps you reconnect — gently and safely — rebuilding core strength, releasing tension, and finding moments of calm in the beautiful, relentless intensity of new parenthood.

Benefits

What you'll gain
at every stage.

Reduced pregnancy discomfort

Targeted sequences for back pain, pelvic girdle pain, and the postural adaptations of a growing bump. Most clients report significant relief within the first two sessions.

Breathing skills for birth

Practical, rehearsed breathwork techniques that give you a genuine tool for managing labour — reducing fear, supporting focus, and maintaining calm under pressure.

Stronger pelvic floor & core

Safe, progressive pelvic floor and deep core work during pregnancy and postnatally — protecting long-term health and supporting physical recovery after birth.

Better sleep and deeper rest

Yoga Nidra and restorative practices directly address pregnancy-related insomnia and postnatal exhaustion — giving your nervous system the rest it desperately needs.

Emotional resilience and calm

A regular mindfulness and breathwork practice measurably reduces anxiety and improves mood — crucial during the hormonal, emotional intensity of pregnancy and new parenthood.

Connection — with yourself and your baby

Pregnancy yoga creates space to slow down, tune in, and build a deeply felt sense of connection with your baby before and after they arrive in the world.

A Student's Journey

"I started prenatal yoga with Silvia at 10 weeks and genuinely don't know how I would have got through the pregnancy without it. My back pain disappeared, I actually slept, and I had the breathing tools I needed in labour. The postnatal classes brought me back to myself."

FAQ

Common
questions.

Everything you need to know before your first session. Still unsure? Just drop us a message.

You can begin prenatal yoga at any stage of pregnancy. Many women start in the second trimester (from 14 weeks) once the risk of miscarriage reduces. However, if your pregnancy is healthy and straightforward, gentle practice can begin in the first trimester. We always recommend you let your midwife or GP know you are starting yoga.
Yes — when practised with a qualified prenatal yoga teacher who understands the physiological changes of pregnancy. Our sessions are fully adapted for pregnancy, avoiding deep twists, strong core work, inversions, and positions that compress the abdomen or compress blood flow. Safety is always our first priority.
Absolutely. Prenatal yoga is often the first yoga many women try, and it's one of the best entry points. Sessions are built around accessibility and gentle progress, not prior experience. Every body, every fitness level, and every starting point is welcome.
For vaginal births with no complications, gentle postnatal yoga (breathing, relaxation, gentle movement) is usually safe from about 6 weeks postpartum, following your postnatal check. For C-section births, we typically recommend waiting 8–10 weeks and getting clearance from your consultant. We always defer to your healthcare team's guidance.
Yes — our Mum & Baby yoga classes are specifically designed for you to practice alongside your baby (from 6 weeks). Feeds, nappy changes, and baby sounds are all entirely welcome. Your one-to-one postnatal sessions can also be conducted with baby present if needed.
Comfortable, stretchy clothing is ideal. We provide mats and props for in-person sessions — you don't need to bring anything. For online sessions, a yoga mat is helpful but a carpeted area works fine. Bring water and a light blanket for relaxation practices.
We work with many clients who have had pregnancy complications. We require clearance from your midwife or consultant before working with high-risk pregnancies, and we adapt every session carefully around your specific medical guidance. Please get in touch to discuss your situation — we will always be honest about what's appropriate.
